
| This is a common butterfly in Ohio.
I don't think that we have as many in 2009. They are quite active
and difficult to photograph. It is best to find them feeding as in
this shot. The other way to shoot them is if the night has been
cool they will sit in warm sunshine.
I use a Sigma 70-300 mm zoom macro lens with a 1.4x teleconverter. I have two large flashes mounted near the front of the lens. I use manual focus. The rig is not well balanced and I mount it on a monopod to help control it.
